GLACIER IN THE REARVIEW

This is easily one of those places where we are leaving knowing that there just was not enough time to do all that we might have or would do if we were here longer. It is one of the downfalls of a motorcycle trip I guess.
This though was a day where we got to see things from a couple of different perspectives. We stopped first at McDonald Lodge, a rustic hotel towards the north end of Lake McDonald. This old lodge has the feel of the resorts that were so prevalent in the Catskills in New York. I almost expected the announcement for Bingo at any time. After that visit we took another hike on The Trail of the Cedars, another beautiful walk that afforded views of more of the splendor of the park. Last, we headed to Apgar Village where we rented kayaks and paddled along the shore of Lake McDonald and stopped for a picnic lunch. We bid goodby to the park early in  the afternoon and made a stop at the Kalispell Harley dealer for our local chip purchase.

No matter where you go you are surrounded by the unique beauty here

Sadly, it is time to head east. We are not sure what we will see on the northern route that we have chosen but I can say that no matter where I have been in this country, there has always been something of interest.
